Fourteen children have died after the roof of a building collapsed on top of them at a private tuition centre near Lahore, officials have said.
The incident occurred in the Kahna suburb of the Pakistani city, where emergency services responded after receiving a call at around 16:45 local time.
Rescue 1122 spokesman Farooq Ahmed said the rescue operation was completed within an hour, with most of those recovered from the debris aged between seven and 11. Children under the age of 10 were among those pulled from the site.
Authorities have launched an investigation into the collapse, and two people have been taken into custody as part of the initial inquiry.
Officials said around five other people were injured in the incident.
