"France's attitude in this situation is not surprising because it itself constitutes a threat to world peace. France's decision to provide arms to Armenia is clearly a position against Azerbaijan.

We, Pan-Africanists and members of the NON-ALIGNED MOVEMENT(NAM) must provide our support to Azerbaijan by saying NO to France's interference in this conflict."

Kalil Sarmoye, a French political scientist of Malian origin, expressed these views in his statement to Ednews while commenting on the issue that France will provide Armenia with air defense systems.

He noted that we ask the Azerbaijani President His Excellency Mr. Ilham Aliyev to take all the necessary measures by seeking partners who can help him arm himself in case of Armenia's aggression with the support of this criminal and hypocritical French president EMMANUEL MACRON and his government.

"Finally, we ask all friendly countries of Azerbaijan, members of the UN Security Council, to denounce this imperialist attitude of France at the UN because France is not a peacemaker but a terrorist country and war maker in the world", he concluded.

French historian and political scientist Maxime Gauin touched on the issue from a different perspective:

"The obvious intents of these sales are to reinforce the Armenian government against his Kremlin-linked opposition (who constantly says that the opening to the West provoked the loss of the Karabakh and threatens the territorial integrity of Armenia) and against Russia."

The problem is that the contract was signed before a peace treaty (even if Armenia formally recognized the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan by the Prague declaration and confirmed it by the Grenada declaration) and, considering the Azerbaijani reaction, there is a lack of communication and coordination with Baku.
