Since the start of the Israel-Hamas conflict, Arab countries have been reluctant to express a certain opinion on the issue. In several shared images, the Palestinians even stated that they do not support Hamas.

Why do the Arab countries refrain from supporting Hamas?

Palestinian political expert Khalil Al-Asali said in a statement to Ednews that the Hamas group does not represent Palestine in any way:

"We want Hamas to be more balanced in their relationship with the Israelis as well as the Palestinians. Note that Hamas does not actually represent the Palestinians. Like other factions in Hamas, they support a certain ideology. If you ask why the war is being marked against the Palestinians and not against Hamas, it is due to the lack of information in the media. Hamas and Palestine are completely separate. This event has a long past history. Unlike Hamas, the Palestinians are asking the world that we should not be treated as an object, as an enemy, as animals."

The expert said that the reason why Arab countries do not support is the current policy of Hamas. He believes that all countries in the region are afraid of the conflict spreading to the region.

"The Arab League or the Arab countries have never had the intention of supporting the Palestinians at all. At the moment, they do not support Hamas either, because Hamas is a religious organization. The current processes are the religious version of the politics they hate. But what happened on October 7 will lead to the destruction of the normalization process that many Arab countries started with Israel. The war in Gaza continues and many people are dying, so the Arabs do not officially want to help.

I think what is happening in Gaza will have a great impact and will change the map of the Arab world, not only in Gaza or in the region. This is just the beginning of many changes. If the Israeli army enters Gaza, we will enter a different phase. Many Arab regimes are also afraid of it. So they want the Israelis to stop as long as they can, or at least destroy Hamas as quickly as they can. The Americans are here because of the dramatic changes that could happen in the region.
