After restoring its territorial integrity, Azerbaijan began to transform the liberated territories into an ecologically clean zone with green energy, smart villages and cities, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov said in his video address to the 49th meeting of the UN Human Rights Council, Report informs.
“The end of the conflict between Azerbaijan and Armenia creates new economic opportunities not only for Azerbaijan, but also for Armenia,” Bayramov said, adding that in this regard, the reconstruction and restoration of these territories will be one of the main priorities for the development of Azerbaijan in the coming years.
He noted that $1.3 billion from the state budget of Azerbaijan were already spent on these territories in 2021.
The minister added that the mines laid by Armenia in these territories significantly impede the return of internally displaced persons to their homes.
