State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin said that Russia and Iran have successfully resisted the expansion of the US and NATO bloc, which is confirmed by the sanctions pressure on our countries, APA  reports. 

“Today, Russia and Iran are successfully resisting the international expansion of the United States and NATO bloc. This has been confirmed by the unprecedented pressure of sanctions on our countries,” he said at the third meeting of the inter-parliamentary cooperation commission. State Duma and the Assembly of the Islamic Council of Iran.

According to Volodin, Russia and Iran together support the principle of non-interference in the internal affairs of other states and advocate multipolarity.

“Together, Russia and Iran uphold the principles of sovereign equality and non-interference in the internal affairs of other states. They are in favor of multipolarity and a just world order for the interests of the peoples of our countries.”

Volodin added that Washington is therefore trying to stop the development of Russia and Iran. “These attempts are doomed to failure, our countries will never bow to foreign dictates.”

Volodin said, “Washington and its satellites want to stop the development of our states in this way, interfere in their internal affairs and spread disinformation. We saw this in an example of a demarche prepared from abroad regarding a demonstration held in Iran last year.”
