For the first time, a dialogue on energy security between the Alliance and Azerbaijan took place in the format of the Committee of Deputies of Permanent Representatives (DPRC) at the headquarters of NATO in Brussels.
EDnews informs that the Deputy Minister of Energy of the Republic of Azerbaijan Elnur Soltanov, the head of the delegation of the Republic of Azerbaijan to NATO Jafar Huseynzade, as well as the delegation of the delegation participated in the meeting. Within the framework of his visit to the NATO headquarters, Deputy Minister E. Soltanov also held bilateral meetings with the special representative of the NATO Secretary General for the Caucasus and Central Asia, Xavier Colomina, and the head of the Climate and Energy Security Department of the International Secretariat, Michael Rühle.
During the discussions, E. Soltanov informed the allied countries about the successful energy strategy of Azerbaijan, the importance of the "Southern Gas Corridor", our country's contributions to Europe's energy security, opportunities in the field of renewable energy sources and new perspective projects.
NATO member states emphasized that Azerbaijan is a reliable and important partner of the Alliance. The allied countries highly appreciated the contribution of our country to the energy security of Europe and touched on the importance of prospective projects in this context.
