According to the information provided by the State Border Service of Azerbaijan on September 27, Ruben Vardanyan, who worked as the "state minister" of the so-called Karabakh Republic, was detained at the "Lachin" state border checkpoint.
The information says that Vardanyan, born in 1968, was brought to Baku accompanied by the employees of the State Border Service's Flexible Movement Forces.
Speaking to Ednews about the issue, Umud Mirzayev, president of the International Eurasia Press Fund, said that he had no doubt that Vardanyan would be arrested sooner or later. According to him, the arrest of Vardanyan, a person who was always trying to create chaos in Karabakh and never gave up his provocations, as well as bringing him to Baku, is a very important event:
"Because he appeared as one of the most dangerous separatists of recent years. Vardanyan's 3-5 cents was the main reason for his act of plugging.
There is a proverb: "Water breaks the sage on the waterway." Vardanyan and others like him, illegally settled in the territory of Azerbaijan and engaged in subversion. This was contrary to the Constitution of Azerbaijan, and it meant violating the norms of international law.
Vardanyan completed his education in Europe and the United States. Since the 90s, he has worked in finance, banking, and various economic projects. He has not thought about politics in these years. As much as Vardanyan is not a politician, he is not a soldier either. Despite this, Vardanyan, who controls large companies and billions, agreed to move to Karabakh. It is clear from this that Vardanyan was directly controlled by the Armenian lobby and diaspora operating in Russia."
During the conversation, U. Mirzayev also mentioned Levon Ayrapetyan, the former head of the Armenian diaspora in Moscow, who allocated 150 million dollars to the budget for the occupation of Karabakh.
"Then they arrested him in Moscow. Ayrapetyan, who is known abroad as one of the important figures for the recognition of the so-called Armenian Genocide, was found to be in contact with the "Kingiseppski" organized criminal group. I can also name: Zareh Sinanyan, Ara Abrahamyan and others."
In the end, Umud Mirzayev noted that the fate of Ruben Vardanyan awaits all those who committed crimes against Azerbaijanis.
"Justice always finds its place. It may just be sooner or later. In 30 years, the criminals whose hands have been drowned in the blood of Azerbaijanis will receive their deserved answer. Everyone who tortured and killed our people in Khojaly, Aghdaband, Meshali and other areas should know this, one day it will be their turn to answer."
It should be noted that on July 29, 2023, Vagif Khachaturyan, one of the persons wanted internationally in connection with the events of the Meshali genocide, was also detained at the Lachin border crossing point.
