The Iranian President stated that the implementation of this project will enhance exchanges, economic, and trade relations between the two countries as well as regional nations.

Note that on October 6th, near the town of Aghband in the Zangilan district, within the framework of the "Memorandum of Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran on the Creation of New Communication Links between the Republic of Azerbaijan's East Zangazur Economic Region, Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, and the Islamic Republic of Iran through the Territory of the Islamic Republic of Iran," a ceremony was held to lay the foundation for the construction of an automobile bridge and border-customs infrastructure, as well as shore fortification projects in the area. Construction work has commenced.
