President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev addressed a letter to the President of the State of Palestine, Mahmoud Abbas, Ednews reports.
The letter states:
"Dear Mr. President,
On the occasion of the national holiday of the State of Palestine, I heartily congratulate you and all your people in your person on behalf of myself and the people of Azerbaijan, and give my best wishes.
The establishment of Azerbaijan's diplomatic mission in Palestine last year was a positive step towards the development of our bilateral relations. The issue of building a school in Palestine is also on our agenda.
We hope that the tension in Gaza will be resolved soon. Azerbaijan has always shown solidarity with the Palestinian issue and supports the solution of this issue based on the two-state principle in accordance with the relevant resolutions and decisions of the UN. Our country will continue to support the UN Middle East Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East.
I believe that friendly relations and cooperation between our countries with good traditions will continue to develop successfully.
On this significant day, I wish you good health, happiness, success in your work, and peace and tranquility to the brotherly Palestinian people."
