A peace treaty between Azerbaijan and Armenia may be signed in the near future, the Chairman of the Parliament of the Republic of Armenia Alen Simonyan told journalists, Ednews reports citing Sputnik Armenia.
"I have already said that the peace treaty can be signed within 5-10 days. We have sent our proposals, this is already the 6th exchange... If Azerbaijan does not change anything, if it does not put forward new proposals, the signing of the peace agreement may take place within a few days," said Simonyan. "Yes, we are moving towards peace. Claims that we are in conflict and that this is an intractable issue are unacceptable to me. History has witnessed many events: England and France fought and killed each other for 116 years. And today England and France are the most are close allies," Simonyan said.
According to him, Armenia and Azerbaijan are in the same region and should solve all problems.
