UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres hails the joint statement of Azerbaijan and Armenia on the intention to normalize relations and hopes that it will serve to ensure long-term peace, Stéphane Dujarric, Spokesperson for the Secretary-General said, Ednews reports.
"The Secretary-General welcomes the joint statement of Azerbaijan and Armenia," he said.
"The UN encourages the sides to use this agreement to develop mutual trust and ensure long-term peace for the benefit of their people and region," Dujarric stressed.
