X Corp. owner Elon Musk announced on Thursday that his social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, will incorporate video and audio call options that will work for iOS, Android, Mac, and PC operative systems.
Users will not be required to have a phone number linked to their X account to access these functionalities, he said, in Musk's attempt to make the platform an "effective global address book."
These new features are an addition to the previously announced removal of the blocking option, authorization to make political propaganda, and obtaining the license to add transactions in cryptocurrencies through the social platform.
