Meanwhile, the attention will also be on the Federal Reserve's Beige Book, which will shine a light on the current economic conditions in the United States.
The Dow Jones lost 0.12% at the open. At 9:30 am ET, the S&P 500 declined 0.40%. The Nasdaq 100 fell 0.66% at the beginning of the session, with ASML sliding 4.92% at 9:31 am ET.
The euro traded 0.21% below the dollar at 9:29 am ET, selling for 1.05543.
