Meta Platforms Inc. announced on Monday that it will offer paid subscriptions for its Facebook and Instagram services starting next month.
Residents of the European Union (EU), European Economic Area (EEA), and Switzerland will have the opportunity to opt for a monthly plan, allowing them to use the social networking platforms without advertisements. The pricing for this service will start at €9.99 for web users and €12.99 for those using iOS and Android devices.
The monthly plan will apply to "all linked Facebook and Instagram accounts in a user's Accounts Center" until March 1, 2024. After this date, the company will charge separately for each listed account.
