The statement came from Sami Al Hajj, director of Al Jazeera's Public Liberties and Human Rights Centre, Ednews reports.
According to him, using landmines is banned at the international level.
"We arrived in Agdam today to get acquainted with Azerbaijan's demining activities so that IDPs can return," he said.
It should be noted that the participants of the international conference "Humanitarian Demining Activities and Sustainable Development Goals" have started their visit to Agdam.
ANAMA and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) will co-organise a hybrid international conference entitled "Humanitarian Demining Activities and Sustainable Development Goals" in Baku from March 31 to April 1.
The event was attended by about 120 participants from 30 countries, including the United Kingdom, Serbia, Switzerland, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Angola, Cambodia, Jordan, Sudan and others. The event will alse be attended by 20 officials from the countries representing specialized demining structures. Among the participants are members of foreign parliaments, representatives of international organizations and embassies.
