As reported, the International Eurasia Press Fund (IEPF) and the Embassy of Japan in Azerbaijan signed a project on March 9, 2022, "Provision of Mine Action Supply in the Tartar region."
IEPF President Umud Mirzayev gave an interview to CBC about the project.
He said that the Embassy of Japan and the IEPF have implemented the first project 20 years ago.
"At that time, the IEPF's 15-member Community Mine Action Team was formed on behalf of ANAMA."
Speaking about the main goal of the project, Mirzayev said that it would provide the Fund's Community Mine Action team with 11 mine detectors, 11 sets of protective clothing and one pickup made by the Japanese company Mitsubishi to clear mines and unexploded ordnance in the Tartar region. It envisages contributing to the clearing of mines and unexploded ordnance in Azerbaijan.
