Every year, 4 April marks the International Day for Mine Awareness and Assistance in Mine Action. The International Day for Mine Awareness and Assistance Mine Action was established for the first time in 2005 by UN General Assembly resolution 60/97 and is marked annually. In every country, mines and remnants of war seriously hinder development and progress, and pose a threat to people's living conditions, health and life.
Under the leadership of the President of Azerbaijan, Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev, the lands of Azerbaijan were liberated as a result of the 44-day Patriotic War.
On the issue, Umud Mirzayev, president of the International Eurasia Press Fund, chairman of the Public Council under ANAMA, veteran journalist Ray Karimoglu, one of the founders of the "Azerbaijan Campaign Against Landmines", chairman of the organization Hafiz Safikhanov, met in a video debate of Ednews. Since the end of the 2020 war, 288 Azerbaijanis has become landmines victims, 50 of them were dead.
