As we reported, on April 26, 2023, the driver of the Community Mine Action Team of the International Eurasia Press Fund, Babashov Khazar Tariyel, 1990 was seriously injured and his right leg was amputated below the ankle as a result of a landmine explosion in the area of the liberated village of Sugovushan, Tartar region.
Ednews informs that the Supervisory Board of the State Support Agency for Non-Governmental Organizations issued a statement regarding the IEPF employee who was injured as a result of a mine explosion.
"This incident should be regarded as the next mine terror in the territory of Azerbaijan. Armenia has not only occupied the cities and districts of the Karabakh region of Azerbaijan for nearly 30 years, but also deliberately mined those areas on a massive scale in order to kill innocent people. As a result of the numerous mine explosions that occured in the liberated territories of the Republic of Azerbaijan, a total of 286 people became victims of mine terrorism and 48 of them died."
The statement also highlighted the issue of Armenia's failure to provide information on the mine map.
"The Republic of Armenia not only does not inform our country about the exact maps of the mines it buried in previous years, but today it continues its provocations and re-burys mines in the liberated territories of the Republic of Azerbaijan, endangering civilian and military lives. Once again, we call on the world community, including international organizations involved in the protection of human rights, to take a decisive position on this issue in order to protect human rights and freedoms.
