On May 9-13, Heidi Kuhn, founder, and CEO of one of the world's leading organizations "Roots of Peace" NGO, will visit Azerbaijan again by the invitation of the International Eurasia Press Fund and with the support of the Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA).
Ednews informs that within the framework of the visit, Heidi Kuhn will hold meetings with state officials, visits to the liberated territories, making global appeals regarding Azerbaijan's landmine problem, a symbolic tree-planting campaign, etc.
Heidi Kuhn addressed a letter to Umud Mirzayev, president of the International Eurasia Press Fund, before her visit. She thanked the International Eurasia Press Fund (IEPF) for being invited to Azerbaijan as a guest on the occasion of Mother's Day 2023.
The founder of the "Roots of Peace" NGO spoke about the purpose of her visit:
“The purpose of my visit is to shed light on the plight of Mothers all over the world who have lost their children to the threat of war in Azerbaijan, Afghanistan, Armenia, Iraq, Iran, Syria, Sudan, Ukraine and Russia. Mines know no borders and carry no flag. Long after the guns of war have fallen silent, they maim and kill innocent children. Once these seeds of terror are eradicated, Roots of Peace renews the land through regenerative agriculture - providing farmers and families with the dignity and income to thrive.
In this correspondence, I have moved our Roots of Peace Media Team to work closely with IEPF's media team in Baku to provide B-roll video and photos to share with journalists. I look forward to walking with you through the mined areas of Karabakh, to celebrate your culture, and to join the Mothers and Mine Survivors to plant a Roots of Peace garden in this beautiful war-torn land:
“Thank you again for all your hard work and humanitarian efforts in preparation for my Mother's Day visit.
I look forward to return safely to my children and grandchildren in California to celebrate a real Mother's Day that benefits the children of the world.
May God protect our every step for peace."
Noted that Heidi Kuhn visited Azerbaijan for the first time on March 1-5, 2022. During the visit, Heidi Kuhn became familiar with the human mine problem of our country and laid the foundation for future cooperation in this direction.
