"More than 80 thousand hectares of the area were cleared of mines after the Patriotic War," Vugar Suleymanov, Chairman of the Management Board of the Mine Action Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (ANAMA) told journalists, EDnews reports.
According to him, more than 87,000 unexploded ammunitions were found. He noted that demining works are currently being carried out in the direction of Ağdam and Fuzuli regions, where Armenians planted the most mines.
Those areas were considered the former front line.
