The international humanitarian organization "Roots of Peace" wants to cooperate with the Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA) in order to help demining operations in Karabakh.
Ednews reports that Heidi Thomas Kuhn, the founder and head of the "Roots of Peace" international humanitarian organization, told journalists about this.
She noted that it is her second visit to Karabakh where she traveled to see firsthand the extent of the destruction. Kuhn said that what she saw in the liberated territories was the evidence of brutality.
"Karabakh was once known as the black garden. It was a beautiful place surrounded by vineyards. "Today, when we say black garden, we understand the seeds of destruction caused by mines," she said.
H. Kuhn noted that she was impressed by the dedication of the ANAMA employees who risked their lives to clear the areas of landmines, as well as the large-scale restoration work carried out in Karabakh.
