United States Secretary of State Antony Blinken emphasized on Wednesday that some requested changes proposed by Hamas to the Gaza ceasefire plan are "workable," while others "are not."
"Hamas could have answered with a single word: yes. Instead, Hamas waited nearly two weeks and requested numerous changes," Blinken said during the press conference in Doha. The secretary of state cautioned that Hamas' persistently rejecting the ceasefire plan would indicate the group's decision to prolong the conflict in the Gaza Strip.
"Longer this goes on more people will suffer and it's time for haggling to stop and a ceasefire to start," Blinken added.
