The European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) has extended its advisory urging commercial airlines to avoid Iranian airspace, citing continued uncertainty over the US-Iran ceasefire and the risk of a rapid deterioration in regional security.
In an updated conflict-zone bulletin, EASA also advised carriers to avoid flight routes over Iraq and Lebanon, warning that the security situation across the Middle East remains volatile despite the ceasefire.
The agency said airlines should exercise heightened caution when operating in the region, noting that conditions could change quickly if tensions escalate.
EASA extended its conflict-zone advisory until July 8, replacing its previous guidance that had been set to expire on July 1, as it continues to closely monitor developments affecting aviation safety.
