The delegations of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan are holding talks today amid escalation of the Kyrgyz-Tajik border situation, AkiPress reports.
The delegation of Kyrgyzstan is led by Vice Prime Minister Jenish Razakov, includes Interior Minister Kashkar Junushaliev, State Border Service Chairman Ularbek Sharsheyev.
The delegation of Tajikistan is led by Vice Prime Minister Azim Ibrohim.
The Vice Prime Ministers of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan held talks yesterday as well.
The sides agreed to jointly patrol the area after the border conflict and continue outreach work with locals to prevent recurrence of border incidents.
The State Border Service told AKIpress the situation on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border remains unchanged.
The border detachments in Batken region are in high alert posture.
Isfana-Batken and Isfara-Vorukh roads are still closed.
