The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, met with Ruvendrini Menikdiwela, the Assistant High Commissioner for Protection at the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), who is visiting Azerbaijan to participate in the 11th Global Baku Forum, Ednews informs.
At the meeting, issues arising from cooperation with the UNHCR, as well as the current situation in the region, were discussed.
The other side was informed about the current situation in the region in the post-conflict period, and the restoration and construction work carried out in the liberated territories.
Menikdiwela pointed out that Azerbaijan is one of the exemplary countries in the fight against the problem of refugees and IDPs, noting that the UNHCR is ready to provide possible support within the framework of the return of IDPs in the current post-conflict period.
Other issues of mutual interest were also discussed during the meeting.
