At least three people have been injured after a shooting in the Iranian parliament, several semi-official Iranian news agencies reported.
A guard was hit in the leg and two members of the public were also injured, the Fars news agency reported.
The two civilians were said to be members of different constituencies who had come to visit their deputies.
The male assailant escaped the building but was captured as he was on the run, the agency reports.
However, a senior MP, Elyas Hazrati, said three assailants had attacked parliament, carrying two Kalashnikov rifles and a handgun.
A witness told Reuters security forces had massed inside and outside parliament, and that the incident was now over.
The identity and motivation of the attacker was still unclear, the semi-official Tasnim news agency reports.
