French leader Emmanuelle Macron said that Paris is ready to become the guarantor of the establishment of peace in Ukraine after the cessation of military activity, TASS reports.
The politician spoke as follows: “At some point there will be a ceasefire and we will have to build peace. This cannot be done without a guarantor, and France is called upon to be one of those guarantors.” His words are quoted by TASS.
Macron added that he would continue to get in touch with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin regardless of the outcome of previous conversations, as this allows France to “maintain the status of a negotiator”.
As the Public News Service wrote earlier, Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said that the Russian Federation appreciates the regular dialogue between the leaders of France and Russia, Emmanuel Macron and Vladimir Putin.
