On Monday, at 5:58am Astana time, a 5.6-magnitude earthquake occurred on the border of China and Kyrgyzstan, informed the seismological experimental and methodological expedition of the national seismological research center of Kazakhstan.
Ednews.net reports citing foreign media that the epicenter of the quake was located 278 kilometers southeast of the city of Almaty, its energy class was 12.1, the magnitude was 5.6, and the depth was 10 kilometers.
A few hours before this seismic activity, at 3:42am Astana time, a 5.9-magnitude earthquake occurred in the same region, the tremors of which were felt in Almaty, too.
