More than 820,000 buildings are unusable after the February 6 earthquake in southeastern Turkiye.
Ednews reports that this was said by the Minister of Environment, Urban Planning and Climate Change of Turkiye, Murad Kurum.
"We have completed the damage assessment in 5 out of 11 provinces. According to the results of the assessment, out of 1 million 706 thousand buildings, the result is as follows: 821 thousand 302 buildings have collapsed or are on the verge of collapse," said M. Gurum.
It should be noted that on February 6, earthquakes of magnitude 7.7 and 7.6 occurred in Kahramanmaraş province in the southeast of Turkiye with an interval of 9 hours. Earthquakes were felt in 11 provinces of the country and neighboring countries, including Syria. About 48 thousand people died in the country as a result of the earthquake.
