A 5.3-magnitude earthquake was recorded in Peru on Friday local time, according to the United States Geological Survey (USGS), Ednews reports.
It struck at a depth of about 79 kilometers with an epicenter of 37.4 kilometers south of the city of Barranca, which is home to over 68 thousand.
It remains unknown as of yet whether the quake resulted in any casualties or damages.
