Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov expressed on Tuesday concerns over the rising tensions between the Arab world and Israel, Ednews reports citing Teletrader.
"With deep regret and concern, we state that the Palestinian problem remains 'outboard' of positive changes. Initiating today's meeting, we set the task of raising attention to the unprecedented growth of tension and violence in the zone of the Arab-Israeli conflict," the Russian diplomat said, speaking at a United Nations Security Council meeting.
Lavrov underlined that now, more than ever, the threat of another armed confrontation must be stopped and the political climate must be cleared "for the resumption of the peace process."
