Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said at the Istanbul Security Forum on Tuesday that terrorism is "one of two main threats NATO is facing" and called on all allies to unite in fighting against it. He added that Turkey's security issues "should also be seen as NATO's issues", Ednews informs via Turkish media.
"I make a call to all of our NATO allies, in combating terror your only real partner is Turkey and Turkish security forces," Cavusoglu said at the conference, according to the TRT public broadcaster. Turkey is holding up Sweden's NATO membership over claims that Sweden is supporting the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), which both countries officially consider a terrorist group.
