The founder and CEO of Roots of Peace NGO, Heidi Thomas Kuhn shared a post regarding her "World Food Prize Laureate 2023".
The post reads:
"As an American woman CEO, Heidi Kuhn, CEO and Founder, Roots of Peace, I am deeply honored to be the recipient of the World Food Prize Hall of Laureates bestowed by the World Food Prize Foundation U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken in tribute to our global effort to turn MINES TO VINES and plant the Roots of Peace on Earth—cultivating peace through agriculture.
First and foremost, I would like to extend my deepest appreciation to our Kuhn Family—my husband, Gary Kuhn, and children Dr. Brooks Kuhn, MD; Tucker Kühn, Executive Director; Kyleigh Kuhn, and Christian W. Kühn for supporting the footsteps of their mother on a quest for peace for the past 25 years.
It is with heartfelt gratitude to my Marin County, California community, global partners, and our brave Roots of Peace staff worldwide that I accept this prestigious award on behalf of farming families globally who seek hope in war-torn lands.
Together, as humanity, may we plant the Roots of Peace on Earth."
