Former United States Secretary of State Hillary Clinton told the Financial Times in an interview that ex-US President Donald Trump's potential victory in the 2024 presidential race would "spell the end of democracy." In addition, this would also mean "the end of Ukraine," she said, EDnews reports citing CNN.
Clinton explained that Russian President Vladimir Putin, who she described as a "complicated, Messianic, narcissistic authoritarian," was expecting that Trump would take the US out of NATO if he won the previous elections. "It would have literally been a cake-walk for him, and so when Trump didn’t win, he figured he had to go forward," which proved to be a "wrong calculation." She further stated that what happened in Ukraine probably set back China's plans to make a move on Taiwan.
Commenting on US President Joe Biden's 2024 bid, she said that although the voters have "every right" to consider his age, "don’t judge him by running against the Almighty, but against the alternative."
