European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen stressed on Sunday in a statement that the just peace Ukraine is striving for "does not reward the aggressor" and "punishes those who have committed crimes of war."
EDnews informs that the EC head reiterated that there can be no peace negotiations without Ukraine. "The impact of Moscow's cruelty goes well beyond its border with disruptions to the global economy, from energy markets to food security. We are working together to mitigate the impact of this war on developing and emerging countries," she stated.
Earlier, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz underlined that the goal of peace talks shouldn't be to freeze the conflict and once again called on Russia to withdraw its troops from Ukraine.
