South Korea: No ammo for Ukraine talks with EU

South Korean Defense Minister Lee Jong-sup (pictured center) denied he discussed the need for ammunition for Ukraine during his meeting with European Union Foreign Affairs and Security Policy High Representative Josep Borrell at the Shangri-La Dialogue security even in Singapore, Ednews reports.

"The claim that discussions on ammunition support for Ukraine were held is not true," the Defense Ministry said in a statement shared with the media. "While mentioning the need for various weapons systems and other forms of support to improve the situation in Ukraine, the EU side expressed its unilateral stance on the importance of ammunition."

The comments came after Borrell tweeted after the meeting with Lee that the two "[s]hared alarm at continued DPRK [Democratic People's Republic of Korea's] provocations and discussed Ukraine's needs for ammunition."
