Romanian Prime Minister Nicolae Ciuca has resigned.
Ednews reports that Ciuca resigned as part of the agreement on the distribution of the prime ministership among the main leaders of the coalition government. The resignation took place against the background of ongoing protests in the country.
Marcel Kolaku, the leader of the Social Democratic Party, will soon take the post of Prime Minister. The coalition formed in 2021 includes the Democratic Union of Hungarians in Romania in addition to Ciuca's National Liberal Party.
