A 6.1-magnitude earthquake struck the island of Tonga on Sunday, according to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC). The epicenter of the quake was located approximately 369 kilometers south of Nuku'alofa, the capital city of Tonga. The earthquake occurred at a depth of around 30 kilometers, Ednews reports.
This recent seismic event comes after three earthquakes hit the island nation last week, measuring at 5.9, 6.0 and 5.6.
