Swedish Minister for International Development Cooperation Johan Forssell announced on Monday that Sweden is pledging $586 million (6 billion kronor) for efforts to rebuild Ukraine and carry out reforms necessary for potential membership in the European Union.
"This is the largest and most ambitious bilateral strategy that Sweden has developed, ever," Forssell said, adding that his government will also provide "additional specifically directed investments." The funds will be disbursed in the period between 2023 and 2027 and will be used for projects related to infrastructure, healthcare, green energy, the fight against corruption, and others.
