Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs called on Poland to avoid the escalation of tensions by accusing Minsk of violating the state border, urging Warsaw to refrain from using this as pretext to militarize the border area, the ministry said in the statement on Wednesday.
The accusations of Belarusian helicopters violating Poland's air space are "groundless," Belarusian Ministry of Defense and Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated upon providing detailed data to the Polish side about the incident, specifying that the Belarusian helicopters maintained a flight altitude of 150-200 meters and their trajectory remained at a minimum distance of 1,900 meters from the border.
"At the same time, on the same day, a Polish Mi-2 helicopter flew 200 meters from our border, which was confirmed by data control of radar stations," the Belarusian Ministry of Defense said.
