A 5.7-magnitude earthquake was recorded near Kandrian in Papua New Guinea on Sunday, according to the United States Geological Survey (USGS).
The epicenter was 98 kilometers east-northeast of the city of Finschhafen, with an estimated population of just over one thousand people. The tremor struck the region at a depth of 23.8 kilometers. As of this moment, there are no reported damages, and no tsunami alert has been issued.
