Belarusian Defence Minister Viktor Khrenin (pictured) remarked on Friday that his country is "protecting" Russia from what he described as the North Atlantic Treaty Organization's (NATO) "backstabbing."
"Today, our fraternal Russia, which is conducting the special military operation in Ukraine, is at the forefront of the fight against neo-Nazism. Belarus is protecting it from NATO's backstabbing. This course is essential for us today," Khrenin stated in his speech at the International Anti-Fascist Congress in Minsk.
Earlier in the day at the same event, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko accused the United States and its partners of trying to preserve their "hegemonic position and to slow down the development of countries that they see as their rivals."
