Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva on Tuesday slammed the United Nations Security Council for "progressively losing its credibility" which consequently caused its permanent members to "wage unauthorized wars," "territorial expansion," and "regime change."
"The UN needs to fulfill its role as a builder of the world with more solidarity, fraternity, and fairness, but it will only do so if its members have the courage to proclaim their discontent at inequality and work tirelessly to overcome it," Lula said in his speech at the UN General Assembly in New York.
The president of Brazil also spoke on the ongoing war in Ukraine, highlighting the importance of diplomacy in resolving the conflict.
