North Korean Vice Foreign Minister Im Chon-il described the relations between his country and Russia as a "powerful fortress" that stands for world peace and against imperialism.
"Recently, the United States groundlessly termed the development of the good neighborly relations between the two countries a 'violation of United Nations (UN) resolutions' and 'violation of international law' in a bid to give the world public a false impression that the DPRK [Democratic People's Republic of Korea]-Russia cooperation poses a 'threat' to global peace and security," Im's written statement shared with the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) read.
"This is a vivid expression of the US hegemony-oriented way of thinking based on the Cold War-style confrontation logic," the vice minister concluded.
