The Finnish Presidency stated on Tuesday that the damage in the gas pipeline and the data cable that provoked the halt in the operations of the undersea Balticconnector pipeline running between Finland and Estonia was "caused by external activity." Furthermore, the presidential office clarified that these eventualities have no impact on the stability of the fuel supply.
Regarding the same issue, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg commented that the organization is "sharing information & stands ready to support Allies concerned."
Earlier, it was reported that the Helsinki government would have indications to suspect that the damage was deliberate and done by Russia.
