Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on Friday that the United States is constantly extending its sanctions against Iran over an "imaginary" nuclear missile threat.
The spokeswoman said the US became "a persistent violator of United Nations Security Council Resolution 2231" after exiting the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and avoiding its obligations under the aforementioned resolution.
In addition, Zakharova accused the European Union, Switzerland, Australia, and Canada of losing "the ability to think independently" for following the US example and imposing sanctions on Iran.
