Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan asserted on Saturday at the Cairo Peace Summit that should Israel continue with its strikes, this would "threaten global stability and peace with geographical escalation."
He underlined that the military support being given to Israel "serves no other purpose" but to deepen the conflict. Fidan called for a "new guarantee mechanism" that would ensure movement towards "just peace."
The Turkish official reiterated that there can be no excuses for strikes that target civilians in Gaza.
