Russia's state intermediary agency for exports and imports of defense-related and dual-use products, technologies and services, JSC Rosoboronexport, and an Indian private company signed an agreement on supplies and production of hand-held air defense system Igla-S, Ednews reports that the former's General Director Aleksandr Mikheyev told TASS on Tuesday.
According to Mikheyev, the manufacturing will be carried out in India. Back in 2018, media reports stated that the deal between the two countries would amount to $1.5 billion, as India aimed to replace its previous Igla air defense system with the upgraded version.
