Russian President Vladimir Putin warned on Tuesday against a potential spillover of the Israel-Hamas conflict to other countries in the Middle East.
Speaking at the extraordinary BRICS summit on the Middle East crisis, Putin stressed that confining the conflict to Israel and Palestine is important for preserving the "fragile" interfaith peace in the region and insisted it is urgent to establish a long-term truce between the two. He noted Russia remains committed to resolving the conflict and accused the United States of trying to monopolize mediation between Israel and Palestine.
