The founder of Spain's right-wing Vox Party, the former leader of the center-right People's Party in Catalonia, Aljo Vidal Cuadras Roca, has accused the Iranian government of conspiring against him.
Ednews reports that Roca wrote about this in a letter he sent to a meeting of Iranian opponents abroad.
"Let me once again remind you of the methods applied to us by the Iranian regime to implement its evil will. The actions of the regime include recently planning a terrorist attack against me," the politician said.
In his letter, he called on the European Union to take stricter and more restrictive measures against Iran.
It should be noted that 78-year-old Aljo Vidal Cuadras Roca was attacked by a motorcycle-riding gunman in the center of Madrid on November 9 and was shot in the face and is currently being treated in the hospital. The Spanish police arrested 3 people suspected of the attack.
Roca, who was the vice president of the European Parliament in 2009-2014, is known as the European politician who took the most radical position against the human rights violations of the Iranian authorities in the last 25 years.
After the incident, the Iranian embassy in Spain issued a statement saying that Tehran is against terrorism.
Note that after the mass protests that took place in Iran in 2022, the Iranian government blacklisted Aljo Vidal Cuadras Roca for supporting the protesters.
